The 20th Cross-Strait Book Fair (hereinafter referred to as the "Nautical Chart Fair") opened in Taipei on the 15th. With the theme of "Books on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, love for China", the event set up exhibition areas for mainland books, Taiwanese book exhibition and sales areas, cross-strait copyright negotiation and new book release areas, attracting more than 200 cross-strait publishing institutions and copyright institutions to participate, and jointly explore cross-strait issues. New opportunities for cooperation in the publishing industry.
This nautical chart exhibition is jointly sponsored by the publishing circles on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. It will display a large number of books in the literature, life, and children's categories that are loved by readers on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, as well as historical materials and classics suitable for library collections and academic research on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. Among them, there are more than 20,000 books from the mainland participating in the exhibition, and new books such as "Twenty-Four Solar Terms Materia Medica" and "Fujian's World Heritage: Gulangyu Island" are all displayed in Taiwan for the first time.
Shen Rongyu, chairman of the Taipei City Chongnan Book Street Promotion Association, has been engaged in mainland book exhibition and sales in Taiwan for nearly 20 years. He told reporters that mainland simplified Chinese publications have a huge market in Taiwan, and many readers come regularly to select and buy mainland books. "The topic of AI technology has become very popular in Taiwan in recent years. I hope to bring relevant books from mainland China to Taiwanese readers."
"We have gathered a group of Taiwan's representative paintings and produced atlases, albums, etc., hoping to take advantage of the Nautical Chart Society to promote them to the mainland market." Wu Fang, president of Taiwan's Changge Publishing House, told reporters that cross-strait art Exchanges have always been close, and many excellent mainland art works can often be seen in various exhibitions held in Taiwan. "We used the venue space this time to display a number of paintings by mainland artists. We also plan to hold an exhibition in Xiamen next year. We hope that art can become a bridge for people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait to enhance understanding and communicate with each other." He said.
In addition to the main venue in Taipei, sub-venues for high-quality book exhibitions and exchanges have been set up simultaneously in Taichung and Kaohsiung. During this period, more than 20 cross-strait book copyright trade matchmaking meetings, as well as multiple new book launches and cross-strait publishing cooperation seminars will be held. Related activities will continue until the 21st.
It is understood that since its establishment in Xiamen, Fujian Province, in July 2005, the Chart Society has been successfully held on both sides of the Taiwan Strait for 19 times, achieving cross-Strait book trade purchases of 700 million yuan, reaching more than 4,000 cross-Strait copyright trade and cooperation projects, and building a cross-Strait publication network.
