Among the consumers surveyed, 67.5% believe that future product packaging should be "environmentally friendly packaging materials". Consumers tend to choose products with environmentally friendly packaging materials when “buying for themselves” and “buying gifts for family members and parents”, accounting for 73.0% and 64.5% respectively, indicating that consumers pay great attention to choosing environmentally friendly packaging when shopping for themselves and their families material. 62.4% of consumers believe that commodity packaging should be recyclable in the future, and 46.8% of consumers believe that commodity packaging should be "reduction in packaging materials" in the future. According to the survey, 88.1% of consumers choose simple packaging when purchasing goods for themselves, and 80.4% of consumers prefer integrated packaging (referring to the packaging form of a gift box plus a handle, which can reduce the use of handbags, is A form of packaging reduction).

 

  Regarding the packaging development direction of "enhancing user experience", 49.9% of consumers agree that product packaging should "enhance user experience" in the future. Consumers believe that the packaging should be designed to be friendly and improve the ease of use of the packaging, for example, it is suitable for special groups such as the elderly and children to disassemble, and it is easy to carry, store and use.

 

  The packaging development direction of "expanding the use of packaging" has been recognized by 41.6% of consumers. Consumers believe that if the opened package has other uses, it will not be discarded by consumers as garbage, which is equivalent to reducing packaging waste and is also a form of reusable packaging. The data found that among consumers who prefer to expand the use of packaging, 81.2% like "item storage", and 68.9% like "handmade with packaging (for example, there is a pattern printed on the back of the paper shell package, which can be cut out for handmade)", 56.4% like "making display".

 

  The China Consumers Association recommends that companies innovate in product packaging, specifically from the three directions of packaging material environmental protection, recycling and material reduction, improving user experience and expanding the use of packaging; it is recommended to promote integrated packaging and encourage manufacturers and Consumers expand the application scenarios of packaging, do a good job in the secondary utilization and transformation of packaging, such as packaging into storage boxes, toys, handmade materials, etc., slow down the pace of "packaging" into "waste", and effectively reduce environmental pollution and waste through the above measures.
