Guide: Recently, the General Administration of Market Supervision and other six departments jointly issued a notice on the "Implementation Plan for the Special Treatment Action of Tea Excessive Packaging", focusing on the phenomenon and problems of excessive tea packaging, and carried out special governance work deployment.

[ Packaging and Printing Industry Network Industry Trends ] Recently, six departments including the State Administration of Market Supervision jointly issued a notice on the "Implementation Plan for the Special Treatment Action of Excessive Packaging of Tea", focusing on the phenomenon and problems of excessive tea packaging, and carried out special governance work deployment. Among them, China Tea Circulation Association and other industry associations are clearly required to carry out publicity activities on the theme of restricting excessive tea packaging, promote the application of green packaging in the upstream and downstream of packaging, and guide enterprises to use simple packaging. At the same time, industry associations are required to incorporate restrictions on excessive tea packaging into industry self-discipline regulations and self-discipline conventions, and strengthen the main responsibility of enterprises.

In order to thoroughly implement the spirit and requirements of the notice of the General Office of the State Council and relevant departments on the management of excessive packaging of commodities, guide all member units and tea companies to enhance their awareness of main responsibility, and promote the green and sustainable development of tea packaging . From April 2022 to the present, under the guidance of the State Administration for Market Regulation and relevant ministries and commissions, the China Tea Distribution Association has given full play to the service functions of industry associations and actively carried out the promotion and implementation of standards to limit excessive packaging.

On April 29, 2022, the China Tea Circulation Association organized Beijing Wu Yutai and other 15 Chinese tea industry companies to participate in a video conference organized by the Food Production Department of the State Administration of Food production enterprises jointly issued the "Letter of Commitment to "Practice the Concept of Green Development and Resist Excessive Food Packaging".

On July 18, 2022, the China Tea Distribution Association held a 2022 special training course on tea quality safety and high-quality industrial development in Songxi, Fujian. Invite leaders of the Food Production Department of the State Administration for Market Regulation to attend the meeting and talk to more than 200 representatives of relevant departments and enterprises in major tea producing areas (counties) across the country, focusing on the current situation of tea quality and safety in my country, risk prevention and control, countermeasures, green tea packaging, etc. Subject-specific training.

On July 21, 2022, the China Tea Distribution Association held a 2022 special training course on tea industry brand building and development in Zhenghe, Fujian, and organized more than 110 industry brand enterprise representatives to conduct training on the theme of tea brand building and green packaging.

On April 3, 2023, the China Tea Distribution Association and the China Consumers Association jointly started to oppose excessive tea packaging, and in line with the principle of regulating the production of tea products according to the law and promoting the development of the tea industry to meet the needs of consumers, jointly issued a joint notice to the majority of operators. Launched the initiative of "advocating moderate packaging of tea and promoting green and civilized consumption" with consumers.

On April 11, 2023, the China Tea Circulation Association issued the "Risk Reminder on Excessive Packaging of Tea" to all member units and industry enterprises, clearly reminding enterprises to attach great importance to the problem of excessive tea packaging and conduct self-examination and rectification in a timely manner.

From April 25th to 28th, 2023, the China Tea Circulation Association held special work meetings on excessive tea packaging in Huangshan, Anhui, and Xinyang, Henan, respectively, for my country's traditional famous tea industry and Maojian tea industry, and invited leaders from the Standard Technology Department of the State Administration for Market Regulation to attend the meeting , and exchange discussions with industry representatives.

Moderate packaging of tea is conducive to brand building and product sales, but excessive packaging will bring multiple negative effects. The packaging of buying boxes and returning pearls runs counter to the connotation of frugality in tea culture, and is incompatible with the new development concept of green and low carbon. Many tea gift boxes are difficult to reuse, and all kinds of fillers are useless. In the end, they can only become domestic garbage, causing waste of resources and environmental pollution. In addition, the marketing concept of focusing on "appearance" and ignoring "quality" is not conducive to the healthy development of the tea market.

In the future, the China Tea Circulation Association will strictly follow the overall requirements of the "Implementation Plan for the Special Treatment Action on Excessive Tea Packaging", and under the guidance of the head office and relevant ministries and commissions, give full play to the service functions of the industry association and actively participate in the special treatment work. At the same time, the China Tea Circulation Association will also strengthen the linkage with all member units and industry enterprises around the special governance work, accurately understand the actual situation of tea packaging production and application, analyze existing difficult problems, and timely feedback enterprise opinions and suggestions to relevant departments. The link and bridge between the government and the industry to jointly promote the green and healthy development of tea packaging in my country!
