On June 15, 2023, the Hefei Municipal Market Supervision Bureau corrected the behavior of Jinhong Qiyunfeng Tea Shop in Shushan District, Hefei City that sold rice dumplings that did not comply with the mandatory national standards for restricting excessive packaging of commodities.
After investigation, the "Jiaxing Famous Zongzi" gift box sold by Jinhong Qiyunfeng Tea Shop in Shushan District, Hefei City contained 4 bags of prepackaged rice dumplings (8 in total), 1 box of salted duck eggs, 1 box of mung bean cake, and 1 bottle of olive oil (500ml). The sales price of the Zongzi gift box is 158 yuan per box, and the sales price of olive oil is 78 yuan per bottle. The price of olive oil obviously exceeds the price of zongzi, and it does not meet the requirements of GB 23350-2021 "Restricting Excessively Packaged Commodity Requirements for Food and Cosmetics" on mixed packaging. The behavior of the parties violated the prohibition of excessive packaging in the "Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste", which constituted failure to comply with the mandatory national standards for restricting excessive packaging of commodities. According to the provisions of Article 105 of the "Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste", the Hefei Market Supervision Bureau issued a "Notice of Order to Correct" to the parties concerned, ordering them to immediately correct their illegal acts. The person involved took the zongzi gift box off the shelves on the spot.
2. Wuhu Municipal Market Supervision Bureau corrected the hotel management branch of Wuhu Macrolink Cultural Tourism Investment Management Co., Ltd. for failing to comply with the mandatory national standards for restricting excessive packaging of commodities
On June 5, 2023, the Wuhu Municipal Market Supervision Bureau corrected the hotel management branch of Wuhu Macrolink Cultural Tourism Investment Management Co., Ltd. for selling rice dumplings that did not comply with the mandatory national standards for restricting excessive packaging of commodities.
After investigation, the hotel management branch of Wuhu Macrolink Cultural Tourism Investment Management Co., Ltd. sold two types of Dragon Boat Festival rice dumpling gift boxes on May 29, 2023. After on-site sampling testing and confirmation by the parties concerned, the price of a mixed product in a gift box exceeded the rice dumpling itself. The price, a gift box with a void rate of 48%, does not meet the requirements of the national standard No. 1 amendment of GB23350-2021 "Restricting Excessive Packaging Requirements for Commodities Food and Cosmetics" regarding the mixed packaging of rice dumplings and the void rate of packaging. The behavior of the parties violated the prohibition of excessive packaging in the "Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste", which constituted failure to comply with the mandatory standards for restricting excessive packaging of commodities. Wuhu Municipal Market Supervision Bureau ordered the parties concerned to make corrections immediately in accordance with Article 105 of the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste. After re-examination, the party concerned has removed the above-mentioned excessively packaged goods from the shelves.
3. Guoyang County Market Supervision Bureau of Bozhou City corrected Yurunfa Supermarket’s failure to comply with mandatory national standards for restricting excessive packaging of goods
On June 8, 2023, the Guoyang County Market Supervision Bureau of Bozhou City corrected the behavior of selling zongzi in Yurunfa Supermarket, Gaolu Town, Guoyang County, for failing to comply with the mandatory national standards for restricting excessive packaging of goods.
