The number of exhibitors at this year's CIIE has increased by more than 600 compared to last year, reaching 4,108 companies, including 290 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders. The exhibition area and the total number of companies have both reached the highest level in history. The number of registered professional visitors has reached 449,500, and 43 trading teams and more than 7,000 trading sub Teams have come to negotiate and purchase.
The upcoming CIIE will showcase 461 new products, technologies, and services, covering cutting-edge fields such as low-altitude economy, humanoid robots, next-generation information technology, artificial intelligence, and green and low-carbon development. At the same time, new themes such as the silver economy, ice and snow economy, and digital consumption will also be highlighted, contributing to the promotion of new consumption development. The parallelly held Hongqiao International Economic Forum will feature 33 sub-forums and closed-door meetings, focusing on issues such as trade security, multilateralism, and the Global South, and will release the World Open Report 2025 and the World Open Index. Eight Nobel laureates and more than 400 representatives from the government, business, and academic circles will participate in discussions, and 21 outcomes documents will be produced.
International cooperation and people-to-people exchanges have been further deepened. Six countries, namely Thailand, the UAE, Nigeria, Georgia, Sweden and Colombia, will be the guests of honor. The China Pavilion will showcase the latest achievements of China's deepening reform and high-level opening-up during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. Enterprises from 123 Belt and Road countries participated in the exhibition, a year-on-year increase of 23.1 percent. The number of African enterprises participating in the exhibition increased by 80 percent, and the exhibition area for African products will be expanded during the exhibition to promote China-Africa economic and trade cooperation. New to the people-to-people exchanges are the "Charm of Friendly Cities" exhibition area, where friendly cities from Germany, Hungary, Italy and other countries will bring cultural and artistic performances.
In addition, the annual focus event of "Shop in China" - the 2025 China International Quality Consumption Month will be launched in conjunction on November 5th. The event will also feature special activities such as the "Expo Quality Products Fair" and the "Expo Gourmet Food Fair". For the first time in December, the Expo Quality Products Fair will be held to promote the transformation of "exhibition products into commodities" and to bring "Expo good stuff" directly to consumers.
Preparations for the 8th CIIE are basically in place, and it will provide a platform for global enterprises to share opportunities on a larger scale, at a higher level, and with broader cooperation.
